About Our Classes & Levels To choose From
Exclusive training is what you are getting at Beatrice Riley Sewing that’s what sets us apart - each class is tutored to your goal and a course outline is created for you to get there. You receive one on one coaching for example:-
you will learn how shorts and pants are constructed and sewn together.
You will learn how a dress is constructed and sewn with lining and industry secrets used.
You will learn how princess seams, pleats, zippers,hems etc are sewn. Hands on practical experience.
Finally you choose a commercial pattern and I will guide you on how to buy the right fabric, right yardage and how to measure yourself and alter the pattern to fit you.
My classes are mirrored with the way I was taught from the two top design schools in New York parsons and FIT and over 12 years of working in the fashion industry for big name brands.
Trust me after 6 sessions you will be confident with sewing!
You get to learn many different types of clothings constructions from the below examples in the different course levels.
You can create your own designs after a 6session course that covers construction of all garment categories.

This is for all levels and students work one on one with the teacher to meet their goals.
Saturday Morning Summer camp 2024 Classes Start
July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th or
August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st ,
Classes will be 2 hr durations per session.
Kids ages 8-12 and Teens 13-14.
Cost $160
4 kids per session.
Classes are for all levels.
Various projects just bring your fabric of choice. Please bring water and a snack.

Kids Classes $80 per month supplies are not included - Various Projects. 1hr duration. Saturdays 10AM-11 AM or 11AM-12PM
Teen Classes $80 per month supplies are not included - Various projects. 1 hr duration. Sun 4:00pm - 5:00pm
NEW Adult Classes Dress making $250 for 6 classes 2hrs long call for time
All year round registration -REGISTRATION ON GOING. However, a start date will be given once the classes fill up. If you have a group of 3 students minimum I can set a start date.

You will learn how to make an apron for a kid or for an adult.
Learn how to sew a waistband, shirring technique, patch pockets, and bias binding etc

Pajamas - this is for ages 8-12 years old. Students will learn how to make a pair of pajamas to fit them. They will learn - how to sew a collar, button holes, pants, sleeves and develop their sewing skills.

Toddler Dress - This is a quick class for students that want to learn how to construct a dress before going on to make dresses for themselves.

Intermediate - Advanced Level
You will learn how to alter all types of garments of your own. I have a basic alteration class for how to alter a bodice - shorten straps, reduce bust. But the class is mostly for you to learn how to alter your own garments under my supervision.

You will learn how to use the serger and cover stitch machine to sew a simple jersey skirt with a waistband. Great intro into using a coverstitch and serger machines. You will learn the different functions and how to thread your machine.

Learn how to follow and understand a commercial pattern, learn how to alter it to fit you.
